The Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education uses biomechanics and principles of human development to help improve functioning. As we go about our lives we develop neuromuscular habits. Some of these habits allow us to perform important daily tasks, but others can lead to injury or pain and prevent us from doing the activities we enjoy.

Thanks to neuroplasticity, we can change these unconscious neuromuscular habits by learning to move in different ways. The results? Easier movement and behaviour changes that help you get back to doing what you love.

The holistic approach of the Feldenkrais Method helps you get to the root of your movement patterns. By engaging your nervous system through gentle movement you can replace old neuromuscular habits with new ones that better serve you.

Feldenkrais sessions are offered in two forms. Group Feldenkrais classes, also called Awareness through Movement lessons, focus on broad functional themes. Individual sessions are tailored to an individual’s specific goals.

The Feldenkrais Method has helped clients:

  • Calm anxiety

  • Ease dysphoria

  • Release muscle tension

  • Maintain breathing function and reduce pain while binding

  • Regain mobility after gender affirming surgery

  • Manage chronic pain

  • Increase range of motion and improve flexibility

  • Confidently set healthy boundaries

  • Develop tools for resiliency and increase self awareness

…and more!

We offer both group classes and individual sessions. You can learn more about our Awareness Through Movement classes on this page and about our private sessions on this page
